Founder and CEO of AurumWorks
a talent advisor who fell in love with helping people find
their place.
I never planned on spending my life in hiring. But one great hire, one person walking into the right room at the right moment, and I was hooked for good.
So here's the honest version of who I am. Not a resume, not a pitch. Just the story of how a girl who wandered into recruiting built a company around what she loves most: helping good people and good companies find each other.
I started my career in consulting, wide-eyed, hungry, and honestly a little lucky. That's where I learned technical recruiting, working with big names like Microsoft and Amazon as clients, and I was lucky to get the kind of exposure that shaped the professional I am today. Across a few firms during those early years, I learned to recruit for almost any skill and in any industry, and how to earn and maintain a client's trust from the first call to the last.
It was a wonderful learning experience. And yet, something kept tapping on the glass. I was good at the work, but quietly searching for the part that would give it meaning. I hadn't found it yet.
Those years taught me a lot, but they also helped me understand where I truly belong. I've realized that I'm happiest in startups, where things move quickly, nothing is perfectly figured out, and there's always something new to build. I love that energy. I love building great teams, solving messy problems, and helping companies grow without losing the heart behind the work.
Then I joined a fashion-tech AI startup as their very first talent hire. No process, no playbook, just a fast-moving company and one exhilarating instruction: build the team. So I did, across engineering, product, sales, marketing, quality, and editorial, six wildly different teams at once. We'd made over 150 hires, and I'd trained someone to run the whole thing so I could move to what was next.
Somewhere in all that chaos, I found the thing that had been missing. Purpose. A kind of joy I still struggle to put into words. Startups don't treat hiring as a transaction; every hire is the company's future walking through the door. That mattered to me. It still does.
Then came a Canadian AI company, where I joined as the first talent partner and built the function entirely remotely.
This one tested me. No local presence, no brand anyone knew, a team spread across time zones who'd never heard of us. The hard part was never the recruiting; it was earning trust from a screen, one honest conversation at a time. So I built a hiring process that was simple, consistent, and could grow with us. Over a few years, we grew the team past 100 people across three continents, and held a 95 percent offer-acceptance rate the whole way.
It's still one of the proudest stretches of my career. Not for the numbers, though I'm human, and I'm proud of them, but for what it proved: trust travels, if you're willing to be real.
The hardest searches aren't the people you can't find. They're the ones everyone has already found. For years I ran CTO, VP Engineering, and Principal searches in markets so thin that the few people who could do the job were already known, usually already holding another offer by the time I reached them.
At that level, you cannot sell your way to a yes. The people who won these candidates were the ones who simply told the truth. So I stopped pitching and started listening, really listening, to what each person wanted next.
After years inside startups, I realised most founders don't need another recruiter. They need someone they can sit down with and ask, “Here's what we're trying to build; who should we hire next?”
But many early companies aren't ready for a full-time Head of Talent, so hiring becomes one more thing on the founder's list, even though it's one of the biggest decisions they'll make.
That's why I started AurumWorks. To be the hiring partner I always wished more founders had. Someone who's been there, knows the messy middle of building a company, and genuinely cares about helping founders build great teams.

How we can work together
Every company is at a different stage. Sometimes you need a fresh perspective on what's slowing hiring down. Sometimes you need a trusted partner to build the hiring function. And sometimes, there's one hire you simply can't afford to get wrong. Wherever you are, we'll start there.
You can see the three ways I work with founders here.
What I've come to believe
Hiring is one of the biggest decisions a company makes, and a great resume is never the same as a great hire, so it deserves real time, care, and honest judgment.
I'd rather solve the real problem than add more process, and use AI where it genuinely helps, never where it replaces the judgment that belongs with people.
Most of all, I believe the best hiring decisions come from honest conversations, even when they're the hardest ones to have.
In their words
I had the pleasure of working with Pranjali for roughly 4 years. Throughout that time we had many opportunities to collaboratively work together as I was growing a couple different teams and required an extensive list of strong candidates to choose from. Not only was Pranjali efficient in providing a list of the strongest candidates, she always ensured that pre-screening checks were done to ensure each individual was best suited for the open position, she was always able to act promptly given the urgency of the position needing to be hired, and she carried herself very professionally while doing so.
Not only was Pranjali an expert in locating individuals that would later prove to be vital components to the success of the teams and company, she was an incredible liason between the employees and their wants/needs. Anyone that went to Pranjali was heard, welcomed, understood, and always felt that she had their back under any circumstance.
I would highly reccommend Pranjali to any future company that is looking for someone who not only can fulfill the requirements of any position, but actually enjoys it, lives it, and breathes it.
Pranjali is an exceptional recruiter who brings both efficiency and genuine empathy to the hiring process. She is highly organized, objective, and clear with validations and follow-ups. What sets her apart is her kindness and great human touch, making every interaction a pleasure. Anyone would be fortunate to partner with her :)
The part I'll never get tired of
If I'm honest, helping someone find the right job is the part I love most. There's a moment when someone lands a role that truly fits, and you can feel how much it means, not just for their career, but for their life, their confidence, their family. Being a small part of that never gets old. It's the reason I got into this work, and I can't imagine doing anything else.
So that's me. Whether it's a founder building a team or a candidate hoping for the right door to open, I just love helping people find where they belong. That's the whole thing, really.
Beyond the Work
I've always loved helping candidates as much as helping companies. So I wrote The Resume Code, the book I wish every candidate had before sending their very first application. Seeing that little dream come to life, and knowing it's helped people along the way, still means the world to me. You can find it here.
I read like it's oxygen. Some of my best mentors have been books. I'm a little obsessed with growing, learning, becoming better, so I'll happily send you a few favorites, and I'm always hoping you'll send me yours.
Fitness rebuilt me. I went from an obese girl to the fittest version of myself I've ever been, and fell in love with strength training along the way. I'm happy to share what I've learned, but I'm still learning too. You're never quite finished, and honestly, that's the part that keeps me going.
I never want to stop being a student. Learning something new is one of my favorite feelings in the world. I don't think we're ever meant to be finished, and I'd like to stay curious for the rest of my life.
Here's to new conversations
Almost every relationship that's meant something in my career started with a simple conversation. So if you're building something you care about, and you believe getting the right people in is worth doing well, I'd genuinely love to hear about it.
There's no pitch waiting on the other side. Just an honest conversation about what you're facing and whether I can help, even if the honest answer is that I'm not the right fit. Either way, you'll leave with something useful.
So don't be a stranger.
